| I'm looking to get a new reel for my Big Dawg rod. This will be used for very large lipped hard pulling crankbaits like a Mann's stretch 30/40+ and other crankbaits that most folks troll with. I was thinking about the lexa 400hd 5.1:1 or the okuma komodo 463. I'd like to stay away from a 500 tranx if possible. Thanks for any insight |

| I'll rephrase my question a bit. For those that own them, which one pulls hard pulling baits the best, Lexa 400hd 6.3:1 or Komodo 463? Also, if you like the komodo 463 better, for the extra speed, how does the pull compare to the lexa 5.1:1? Thanks |

| Any reel considered good or adequate for 10's would also work for hard-pulling cranks. The lowest ratio is going to be the easiest for cranking. It would be personal preference whether you like to crank faster on a slow reel or have the faster reel thats a little tougher. I don't think you could go wrong with either a 5 or 6 to 1. Haven't used the komodo so I can't compare the two, but I have a 5.1:1 Lexa 400. |

| I agree with the guy ^^^. Back in the day, I used my old 4 to 1 7000's for big cranks and my old 6500ca that had a 4.7 to 1 ratio. Today, my choice is my Beast with the 4.9 to 1. Can't comment on some of the other reels u mentioned but I think ur on the right track. kdawg |

Location: Aurora | The Komodo fits much better in-hand for me and weighs less.
It also features a non-disengaging level wind and is a much better casting reel in my opinion. |
