I have a black suick I was gifted that has hooks that break away from the body. When were these made and were they decent to fish with?

Hiya,

Those were made back in the middle 80's or so... Never caught on and was discontinued pretty quickly

People didn't enjoy having to find their baits body after landing their fish.
Really fun for river fishing with current....

Don't they still sell a Mudpuppy top water with that design? I remember fishing a buddy's back in the 1970s. Never caught anything but did have a giant sail right over the top of it on the Three Lakes chain.
