Warranty would be the big reason for me.

Warranty would be the biggest advantage. Then you know what your costs will be. On the other hand, some newer used may have a transferable warranty

On a new boat, car, truck if you are the original owner you know how it has been treated it's entire life.

If you need a loan, financing is better on new plus you have warranty.

Warranty and you set the boat up to your specs. Electronics, electric motor and any personal perks you want you get from flooring options to where you want the compass to sit. Plus you can upgrade the trailer package. Trailers are the most important option you can upgrade, I've always gone up at least one size bigger than what a "package" offered.

That's the fun part. Do your home work on electronics dealers don't knock off much it was cheaper for me to buy th ones I wanted and had the dealer install them

In my opinion, buying a used boat that’s barely been used (and they are out there) is a better value for your buck. The warranty transfers to you, skip the break in period, and shave off thousands of dollars. I’d suggest at least exploring it first. I will say though, I’ve seen some great deals out there on new boats from ‘17 that they are still looking to move..

Jeff does have a point about how with a new boat you know how it was taken care of from the get go. In the 90s I was looking to get a new vehicle but one of the board members at the bank I worked at told me about a great deal he had on his used car inventory. It was a Chevy Blazer that had less than 6,000 miles, had never been titled, driven by GM executive, full warranty. And a really good price. You could not tell it from new. We bought it and about a week after the warranty expired it started to fall apart. Worst vehicle I have ever owned, traded it in with less than 50,000 on it. Shortly before that I had ordered a new Chevy 4 wheel drive truck, just the way I wanted it. Drove that truck for 18 years and loved it.

Buy new. Put together a spec sheet of what you want on the boat. Call at least 4 dealers in your area and then email them the spec sheet. Be up front and let them know that you have shopped the same build sheet to the other dealers. The end result will be a heavily discounted new boat, new motor, new trolling motor, and new electronics set up the way you want it to be with exactly what you want on it. I did this 2 seasons ago on an Alumicraft Trophy 190LE. On dealer beat the next closest quote by more than $7000.

10 year warranty on Evinrude motors right now. I repowered my rig with a new Evinrude and could not be happier.
