Hey guys, is there anyone out there that could recommend a nice/decent boat cover for a 2008 Alumacraft Navigator 165? Side Console to. The universal one I had from fleet farm bit the dust after a year and a half.. Thank you for any input.

Best thing to do is have one made. Where do you live? Recommendations can be made from there.

I have the same boat that I keep in my garage. I don’t have a cover because I’ve never had one last that long on previous boats. However, I would follow Toddm advice if you need a cover. A friend had one made for next size alumacraft for $1000 in no. Ill. High quality and he loves it.

I will also add that getting a good custom made cover is the way to go. I purchased a custom cover from Canvas Craft here in MN for my 2005 navigator when it was new. Still going strong with no rips, tears, or anything. It's the best cover I have ever had for a boat... Well worth the money to get a custom cover done.

I had Canvas Craft built my cover, yes the cost I think 650 stung a little bit. But boy I have been so happy with that cover it fits like a glove, great material. My next boat it wont even be a thought its going right to canvas craft for its cover.

I highly recommend Canvas Products Co. in Dubuque, IA (www.dbqcanvas.com). They are very professional and thorough, and you can save some money. They made a heavy duty cover for a 1750 size aluminum boat for $475.

I have an unused ratchet cover for a 2009 Nav 165 CS . It's unused because it was sent to me by mistake by Cabelas when I bought a boat from them in Richfield, Wi. When I informed them that wasn't the correct cover for the boat I bought they told me to just keep it. I believe the maker was Tormacs(?) in PA. Good medium weight vinyl, grey. Lemme know if you're still looking. Located in Rock County, WI, but travel frequently to Vilas city.

Otto's Canvas in Arthur, IL has far surpassed any expectations I have ever had for a boat cover. Amish built top notch covers.

My nephew has a 165 Competitor which he bought new and had a custom cover made for. I helped him put it on after fishing with him and the fit was terrific. He rigged the boat and they fit the cover for the trolling motor, etc. It was done some where in the Fox Valley (WI), so probably not an option for someone in IL but if I was to get a new cover, a custom that took into account how the boat was rigged would be the way to go.

I own the same boat. Bought a cover from Dowco. They make 'em to fit particular boats, not a universal fit cover. Cost about $425 & was shipped in 3 or 4 days.

Canvas craft for sure. Custom fit around everything on your boat. Have 2011 175cs nav and the cover still looks brand new!

If you're in Northern IL, I got one made at United Canvas and Awning, in Antioch. Fairly expensive, but fits like a glove (I've got a Ranger 620).
