Would Vermilion be considered a better casting or trolling lake? I'm sure both are used but if a person had equal skill sets for both (not talking about me) which would be best?

Opinions?

Thanks.

Time of year would be a huge factor..July , Aug and September , IMO you are better off to cast (there are big open water fish caught trolling these months too) - obviously monsters have been caught both ways - I'd say no right answer to that question

Probably casting the way most of the structure in the lake is laid out.

I did catch one trolling in warmer water. I agree though if the fish are up on top casting is how to get them. I will say this, trolling along shorelines there is a good way to find little interesting spots that are not marked.

So part two of the question would be if trolling, East end or West end?

It depend 100% on the time of year. Both sides have casting and trolling bites.
