Any chance of ice for next weekend in Vilas? Was planning on a trip. Looks like the nighttime temps are starting to get down there!

Iffy on the smaller waters. The way colder than normal weather the last couple weeks has water temps cold already. Hopefully it'll moderate a bit.

Is it still looking like some open water this weekend in Boulder Junction? Anything completely frozen yet?

Team Polock fished Crab, and P.I. over the weekend...water temps were 43 on the surface. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
We broke no ice ... yet.
But like Steve says....it will be close this weekend on smaller waters. Some cold temps on Wed. Thurs. and Friday.

Just got off of Moen in Oneida County. Was surprised when I got back to the landing that skim ice was forming along the shore line. It had been clear when I put in a few hours earlier. Could be single digits overnight on Thursday. Air right now was 27. Sun was shining bright and it felt warmer but the way ice is forming, we could have a lot of skim ice by morning.

Water temps were 41 - 42 on Plum Lake today. I was the only boat out there.
Last outing of the year; ice will be here soon.

As of last night, ciscoes are just starting to spawn on the lakes I checked. Should be a real good weekend.

I would assume so. Haven't physically checked it but every other large body is still open. And today was 50+ degrees to boot.
