I have a Lund without rails in the back of the boat. It has the angled tracks. Looking for some input on the best way to mount some heavy duty rod holders for trolling. Don't want to spend a whole lot but something that will withstand the resistance of trolling with a MatLock or something similar.

What have you guys done?
Pics would be great. Either I'll make something or buy something depending on the price. Would like the Down east rod holders but I just don't see how I can mount them. Clamp on isn't wide enough. I thought of clamping them to a cleat but I'm not sure if that will work.

Any suggestions would be great!

Are you opposed to mounting tracks on the gunnel?

Check out Cisco fishing systems they make a rod holder mount that fits the Lund sporttrack and adapts for a D.E.

I agree with both comments above. I don't have them yet but I will be getting Tracks sometime over the winter when I have more time. Probaly after hunting season. I'm also doing the adapter for the down easters.
