Was up in N.WI to meet with the boss for our 2018 planning sessions, but the fish did not cooperate, AT ALL.

How did everyone else do?

Had one hot fish last evening on a MN metro lake... Came up like it was going to eat, then stopped at the bait. Did this a couple more times, but just wouldn't open its mouth and commit.

A couple more follows, but no eaters. Only out for about 3.5 hours yesterday afternoon into evening.

Fished [muskies] more this weekend than the last whole month.

Thursday night out for a couple hours with my 3 year old, saw three little scared ones, no bites. Caught a few crappies and some slime while taking a break from the big rods.

Different lake Friday for 5 hours, again with the 3-year-old, saw 3 little ones again, one boatside hit that didn't stick. Rained off in the early afternoon. Had the boy catching perch and playing with dinosaurs to stay busy.

Saturday afternoon through dusk, different lake, saw 4 nice ones, one missed hit.

Of the last 7 bites, I've only landed one fish. Got a nasty losing streak going on.

Had a pretty good couple days in Vilas County, WI. Got up later in the day Thursday and moved 5 neutralish fish in the evening and my brother missed a small fish on topwater. Took some guys walleye fishing Friday morning so didn't make it out until the afternoon for about 5 hours. Boated a 35.5" and a 37" and lost another mid 30s after the fish threw the bucktail with a giant leap after setting the hook on the 8. Had another 40"ish fish hot on my bait that I am almost certain would have ate if my inexperienced cousin didn't make a quick movement and shout because he got a little over excited as he saw the fish about to eat right by the boat (some guys were up to fish, some guys to drink a little ), but oh well. Caught another 36" in a quick half hour on Sat morning before I had to leave. All came on the same Dadson Lazer. Discontinued color but almost all the tinsel is off now anyway as I have boated 11 fish on the same lure in 2 years of limited fishing hours. Don't ask why it works, just keep using it! No big fish, but decent action. Drove back Saturday and took my son out on the youth duck hunt and he bagged his first ducks ever so good weekend all in all!

Went 2 for 4, lost a high 40's-50 boatside, didn't get hooks into a 45ish in the figure 8, and boated a small one and a 50

All I can report is one perfectly timed bite where my stupid butt wasn't focused and the heart ache which ensued... hit the bulldawg right near the rear treble too!

Fished 2:30-8 Sunday afternoon, saw 3-4, one of witch was nice, saw two at one spot( one was the nice one) went back there at sunset, got a runt low forties to eat a tail prop. Seen him bulging as he came, smashed it, got him in the net and the lure flew out, perfect. What was weird was we covered the area (with different lures) and the cast that caught him was rite down the path of the boat but 3 minutes earlier, either he hated the noise or was strolling along quickly I think

Went out fishing for my fathers birthday. Saturday saw a couple but no takers, Sunday we made a move and netted 4 up to 48" and saw at least 20 more fish! Needless to say he had a good birthday.
