Hey guys new to the forum here....

I am taking a long weekend trip in mid September up to northern MN and am looking at a couple different options.

Either going to head up toward Cass Lake and fish some smaller area lakes, or thought about the Longville area. I've fished the Cass Lake area before, but never around Longville. Any recommendations?

I've never been up there this late in the year, how different is the fishing in July/August to September? Any tips to help locate fish and techniques to use is appreciated!

Depends on the weather. September might see the same summer pattern as August, or it might transition to the reed/sand bite, depending on water temp. Bucktails, topwater, spinnerbaits work either way. The big cool down tends to push fish very shallow. Shallow weeds are good too. It'll vary a bit by individual lake composition.

Bring a shot gun and go grouse hunting if the muskies are not biting
