mudflaps on your towing vehicle is where I would start.

Good Mudflaps, then something like a Towtector will go a long way to stopping rocks before they get to your boat.

There are a few different options like the Towtector to choose from.

In addition to the mud flaps, towtector, and the boat trailer shields, slowing down on gravel makes a big difference.

Towtectors are great and easy to take off and put on when not trailering.

I have really aggressive tires on my pick-up. They are awesome all terrain tires but throw a lot of stones. I went with the towtector - so far I am satisfied. Great customer service too. My original brushes were too short (even with the adjustability of the premium model). Called and they sent longer ones no questions asked with free shipping on the exchange. And yes, slow down.
