Poking around a bit on this, it seems like this program was ended earlier this year? So no more rebates for those of us heading north of the border, is that right?

Thanks!

Greetings,

There is a thread going on Walleye Central under the Canada forum on this HST matter. I believe the rebate program ends at the end of 2017. I believe that you can submit rebate forms now, so don't wait if you are entitled to a rebate.

Thus, many people going to fish in Canada next year will benefit from a minimum of a 6.5% increase in the cost of their vacation.

Someone on the WC thread quoted a government official in Canada basically saying that the rebate program was costing them a lot of money to administer, so they are just going to keep the tax money.

Kindest regards....

Thanks for the replies. Didn't think my trip would qualify but it sounds like it still might this year - others are getting refunds. We'll give it a shot.
