Posts: 15 | Just got into throwing some pounders from regular size bulldawgs. What rods do you guys recommend for throwing pounders here and there? I won't be throwing them all day. Looking for something semi reasonable in price. Thanks!

There lower end rods are very reasonable in price.

Posts: 1638 Location: Minnesota | The bull dawg predator and the thorn bros predator are 2 different rods one each end of the spectrum. If your not going to use it much I would get rather a Ti rod or the bull dawg between the 2 i would go with the bull dawg.

Posts: 253 | The tixxxh is a great 2 pounder rod, almost overkill for pounders, makes casting them too easy lol The tixxh does launch them great and is a more multipurpose rod, i have both and use the xxxh for 20oz+ baits most of the time

Posts: 146 Location: Shawano, Wi | I have a tixxxh and I think its its too stiff for pounders the rod barely loads. Like someone said more of a two pounder rod go with a xxh rod. You will have less fatigue the rod does most of the work not the other way around.

Posts: 3136 | If your looking for a rod strictly for pounders and big rubber,,take into consideration the size of the guides,,wider diameter is better and in this case I think less is better because a lot of this is in late season and possible freezing guides,,after all your basically lobbing them out.

Posts: 54 | Ti xxxh is to stiff for pounders in my opinion, the xxh throws them with with little effort. 2 pounders, yes go with xxh.
