What's the difference? They look like the same lure.

Posts: 251 | Supernatural is the original, Holloways are a knock off. From what I have seen the Supernaturals are painted much nicer and better overall quality. I know for a fact that Duff will stand behind his baits no matter what happens to them. Go with the original, they catch fish. Had a 5 fish day on them earlier this year.

I won't go into details as it is against the rules to bash a manufacturer, but that being said, you haven't given much of a reason to go with an $80 bait over a $50 bait. Paint catches fishermen. The hook'em is a handcarved Cedar plug with stainless hardware, quality split-rings, and an aluminum lip. What in it leads you to believe it is of lesser quality?

Posts: 265 Location: Manitowish Waters WI | Just got an order in the mail today of a couple of Holloway 8s. Richard was easy to deal with and I asked for 3 custom patterns. He did not upcharge for what I wanted. He had the lures made and to my door within two weeks. My brother owns a headlock and in comparison the paint job on the headlock is defiantly sharper. Holloways are wider and not as round around the edges as the headlock. I have not run them yet but they seem like nice quality baits for the price. Im hoping they catch fish!

Posts: 735 Location: Apparently where the Muskie aren't | Nobody commented on how they run and walk yet. I don't have either but isn't the headlock known for its walk? Does the holloway have comparable walk?

Nershi - 8/9/2017 9:44 PM Looks like the infamous pontooner and holloway are buddies. Makes sense... right.. the girl that got the 57 this year from that toon . one of these makers claimed it was caught on a Holloway and the other maker claimed it was on his original headlock. were all getting Thunderstruck.. Too bad, I used to like that song. now I turn it off when I hear it.

Posts: 251 | The owner of the trolling pontoon made a public statement himself that it was caught on a headlock. I get them when they are on sale every year at thornes 20% off spring sale. You are right, paint jobs catch fisherman but the finish itself is bullet proof, but at some point it will wear through. I can't comment on the Holloway's finish but from what I have been told with the headlocks if there is ever something wrong with the bait, send it back. From what I have found this is the first bait to have an adjustable metal lip. The hours of testing and modifications that went into this bait are worth the extra money to me to go to the original maker rather than someone taking the easy way out and under cutting price

just found them.i don't use headlock but for something like a 20$ of difference i would be crazy to get a pure copy.now it's not just the lip it's the whole thing!

Posts: 61 | I have a couple 8 inch Holloways, with the limited time I have ran them I did catch fish on them so yes they do work without question. I don't own any Headlocks or Mattlocks so can't exactly compare them side by side but they do have good action, walk and are built well. I worked with him direct, nice guy to deal with responds quickly will paint you whatever you need and ship them quick, I couldn't ask for anything more and they cost almost half what supernatural costs. I can't say I won't ever buy a Supernatural bait just haven't yet but will, to me it's not a one or the other as no two baits are exactly alike and will have different actions and colors but new to the game I figured 2 baits are better than 1.
