I just bought a couple salmo sliders pretty cheap, they have fins like a heckhound. Not tried them but worth a shot for what i paid. Musyfix makes a small modivator that is nice. 6" hughey and a buffalo glider that comes from germany, rollie and helens used to sell it, great small glider.

strike pro makes some nice small glides in the buster line that are inexpensive. They can be difficult to find sometimes, I have gotten lucky on ebay. Check out baby buster, tiny buster and buster V, all on the smaller side down to 2.5"

The Tony Grant Series Super Glide is a good one, early season.

My favorite... although a couple dollars more than your budget - is the River Run Tackle Manta. Have done well on it in all seasons. If you don't want to buy new, you can usually find them used for a good price. They are pretty durable and use usually does not affect the action of the lure.

Thanks everyone for the ideas! How big are the regular mantas?

Between 6-7". Just buy one, you won't be sorry. No doubt my go-to glide bait. The super shallow version is awesome for working over weed tops.
