I was in sporting goods store x in town x the other day looking around and seen these yellow rods made for throwing umbrella rigs. 7 1/2 feet long and rated to 3.5oz. I have musky rods that were not as stiff. Anyone ever try one? Looks like a rod that could handle small to medium(say 7") musky baits easily.

Never tried them but I made a umbrella rig that consist of 5 2lb bulldawgs with double #20 Colorado blades in front of each one. Just need a rod to throw it. Lol

I have several Bass Umbrella Rig Rods that are rated from 3oz to 8oz. Lure weigh wise, this thing should handle some of the lighter musky lures, but component wise, is seems lacking the robustness I like in a musky rod.

Kind of the neat/not so neat part about them, they seem to have a musky rod action in a bass sized rod. I use a flipping stick alot for small musky baits and it has been fine for years. Would be interesting to see how one would work.

A two pounder umbrella rig would be insane and maybe not cast it i am sure somebody would try trolling it.

I've caught 2 bass at once multiple times on a umbrella rig. One time I even got 3 at once. Maybe somebody can use the 2lber umbrella rig and catch 2 world records at once.

Just go fish one of the Hayward lakes with that contraption. You're bound to get your records. If you're really lucky one of them will be a tiger

I have a swimbait/a-rig bass for that I used for muskies for a season before I got it loosened up enough for bass applications. Plenty of butt on the rod and the same components as my other Muskie rods just smaller sized. Was great for spinnerbaits after 4 days straight and the hands needed a break

My favorite A-Rig rod is also my favorite spring muskie rod. 8' Legend tournament flippin stick with 4" handle extension.

I use the LT swimbait bass rod a lot for smaller baits, and love it, just got a tranx 300 for it, and it is a wonderfull setup for the smaller stuff.

I saw a youtube vid where a guy made umbrella rigs with shadzillas on them, then he jigged it. It was pretty cool looking and he caught a musky.

That was Arron weibe from uncut angling... they caught multiple fish in the 2 day period jigging the a-rigs. Doesn't look like too bad of a idea. let's see Bondy make one with 5 of his baits lol.

ive got a really nice A-rig bass rod that is rated 2-4 ounces which i was planning on using for small gliders in the spring. unfortunately, I havent found a good job for it yet as it is too stiff to throw light bass stuff and "not enough rod" for casting/working small gliders with, in my mind. Perhaps its just a matter of finding the right presentation to use it for

I use a Mojo Bass swim bait rod for spinnerbaits. Rod is rated up to 5 oz. It works great. I can feel the bait much better with this rod than my Premiere MH rods. Also works well on small cranks. Lighter and more sensitive rod. I've had the same results with the Bass size Umbrella rods.
