| I'm thinking of building my own casting deck insert for the 621 I bought this spring. Hoping someone could send me some detailed pictures of what the factory casting decks look like or what you made yourself so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks! |

| Your best bet is to have Just Encase make you a deck/storage unit that fits your needs and provides handy bait/storage too. I have both and dont use the factory deck anymore.

| 2005. I don't want a just encase box. Too heavy to remove by myself, which I'll need to do somewhat often when I take the wife and kids out. |

| Ok. In that case I think I would get some 3/4 inch marine plywood along with some angle iron. Cut the plywood the size you want the deck with the sides and back to sit on the top of the storage box lip front and back. Angle iron in front edge the width of deck up to the storage boxes and two under to reinforce the deck. Carpet to match along with a couple ranger deck locks and your done. I think those decks were about 30-36 inch those years. |

| You invested a significant sum of money in your 621. Why don't you contact Ranger and get a price on a rear deck? They will match the carpet and get you the necessary mounting hardware. It will be lighter, and easier to remove when space is needed. Not the answer you were looking for...just my thoughts...

Location: Green Bay, WI | I think I just saw a casting deck for sale on a Facebook group--I think it was the Walleye Boats For Sale group as I recall. I'm not sure it if was for a 621 or not though, but there was a Ranger rear casting deck for sale. So if you're on FB, you might want go to that group and look. You might also just throw up a "wanted" post there, asking if anyone has a deck for sale. Given that most guys in the group seem to be walleye anglers, maybe there is someone who has a deck, doesn't use it, and is sick of tripping over the thing in their garage? Might be worth a try anyway...
You might also try advertising in the Walleye Central classified section as well.

| I have bought 2 - one for a 620 and another for a 619 from Ranger. They charged $375 with all the hardware and carpet that matches. |

$400 shipped for something I can build for $50 doesn't make sense to me. There's nothing all that special about a casting deck, especially when I only want one 12" wide. It's wood, glue, carpet, and hardware. Not rocket science. |
