Posts: 221 | I'm looking to stay around Cass Lake the third weekend in July. It'll be a mix of vacation and pre-fishing for the PMTT that I'm thinking about doing there at the end of August. As I've never stayed in this area, I'm looking for recommendations on a place around Cass Lakei for myself, the girlfriend, and 20 pound dog. I'd prefer somewhere with cabins you can rent for a reasonable price. Doesn't necessarily need to be on Cass Lake, just within 15 minute drive or so. Thanks!

Posts: 221 | Cass Lake Lodge only accepts week long rentals. Which seems to be pretty much the story of every resort up there, which makes sense. And the resorts I have found that do shorter stays, don't allow pets. Not looking good. Might have to figure out another plan.

Posts: 22 | You could look in to renting a cabin off VRBO or Airbnb. We've had good experiences doing that for past fishing trips.

Posts: 125 Location: North Saint Paul, MN | You could try Stony Point Resort on Cass. I've stayed there a couple times. We've only ever camped but they have cabins also. You can camp with a tent or bring your RV if you have one. Check out their website: https://www.stonyptresortcasslake.com/index.php

Posts: 221 | Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Unfortunately I literally called every resort around there and either they were already full or would only accept week long rentals. Going to a plan B.

Posts: 28 | I stayed at little wolf lake a few years ago and folks there were very nice. Maybe do a search there, it wasn't too heavily trafficked and may fit what you r looking for. Cases a little bit away but worth a look

Posts: 3136 | This is an old subject but if you stay somewhere off lake, pay, launch and park at a resort,,Cass lake public landings have had their share of trouble.

Posts: 357 | So is the public access REALLY as bad as its made out to be? With that big newer access along the highway I would have thought it was ok, or better now.
