Posts: 290 Location: New Jersey | One at console, one at bow. I ran an Ethernet cable from one to the other. I went to hook them up and the port I need at the console is being used by my structure scan. Do I need a T connector? Did I buy the wrong Ethernet cord? Help, I'm electronically challenged. Thanks guys, Rob

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | You should be able to plug one end of your Ethernet cable (yellow plug) into your bow unit, then the other end into your structure scan box. There should also be one going from the structure box to the console unit. This should network them together. I think, been a while since I hooked mine together!

Location: Eastern Ontario | If you have a Gen 2touch or Gen 3 with built in structure scan you should have a port for power, broadband transducer, structure scan transducer, as well as one or two ethernet ports YELLOW this is what connects to the bow unit. If you dont have built in structure scan you must connect through an LSS box

Location: Eastern Ontario | If your running from a LSS box you will need 2 Ethernet cables one to each unit

Posts: 290 Location: New Jersey | So yes, I have the older gen with external structure scan. Hopefully that has two Ethernet ports. I really only wanted my way points from my console unit to show on my bow unit. If I do it this way and link the bow unit to the lss box, I will also get structure scan up at the bow, correct? Thanks for the help guys -R

Posts: 290 Location: New Jersey | Actually, one more question. The back of my units have the nepa yellow, that I am not using but I guess that can't be used to link 2 units togetter

Location: Eastern Ontario | Yes the LSS box will have 3 Ethernet ports one goes to each unit and you will get structure scan on both units, share waypoints and if your units are Gen 2 you can share one map card. If your structure scan transducer is on your transom when you are on the bow what you are seeing is the length of your boat behind you

Location: Eastern Ontario | I'm not really sure what that nepa yellow is I had to walk out side and look at my 3 units they are covered with a black cap on all 3 of my units.

The black ports are the nmea 2000 network.
