After a long while of changing my mind I've decided to go with down east s10 rod holders over the folbes. Now I just need to find a way to mount them to my lowe fishing machine. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you taken a look at the Fat AZ Tipping down east rod holders?

I am looking for exactly the same information and I was previously referee to the cisco mounting systems. Which would be the best option? I have 7" large wise on the sides of my boat and I would like to permanently install a mounting device that will facilitate installing a down east rod holder and offer more protectionnin terms of not having it fall off in the water (like it happened to me last summer).

If you have enough width on your gunnels a track system works well ( Cannon, Bert's, Cisco and many others. This allows easy removal so they won't wear your cover. I run combinations of downeasters tubes and downriggers all changeable and easily removed

put rails on. Cheap and very effective. You will spend a fortune on tracks and adapters.

As my gunnel has enough width, would the cannon mounting tracks work well with down east rod holders?

I used Bert's tracks and mounts. They work for me.

Wish I could do a track but I don't have enough width for me to do it effectively. I'm kinda stuck, gunnel is too wide to clamp the down easters straight on, but is too narrow for a track system. Anyone ever use the Cisco systems, mount? It looks easy to take on and off, also looks like I won't need to put holes in the boat (which I like).

Edit: about the Cisco/Bert track, does anyone know the distance between the two screw holes in the bottom of the track. It might hang over a little on my Lowe but it might not be to bad. Ideally the track would be perfect because I can switch things out.

If the top rail of your gunnel is aluminum rather than a plastic or rubber cap I would consider having the track welded to the gunnel. You would have to find someone good with aluminum welding so it looked good and didn't distort the tracks. Scotty makes a narrow track that I guy i know had welded to a Tracker that works for him it uses a gearhead mount so may only work with Scotty rod holders.

I took another look at my boat today and i think the Cisco rail will fit alright. I'm. I'm not too conserned with getting it on because I have a uncle who welds aluminum for a living.
