Posts: 129 | I'm sure some of you have used these with big bucktails. Thinking of getting one or two but at $50/pc want to know how they work. Do they cut back on the forearm and wrist fatigue and do you lose any degree of leverage or maneuverability at boat side? Thanks

Posts: 897 | Love mine. Much less fatigue. Boat side stuff was my main concern but it turned out to be a non-issue. You'll get used to it quickly.

Posts: 4269 Location: Ashland WI | I made my own with a piece of dowel. I used a hole saw to get the curvature where it would meet the forgrip. I then drilled a couple of small holes and criss-crossed zip ties to hold it on. A few layers of hockey tape and it looks good. You could try doing this to see if you like it and want to buy the good one.

Posts: 115 | One of my best investments in 30+ years of musky fishing. Don't give up on them in the first hour.

Posts: 238 | Yep. Takes about a hour to get used to it with figure eights and everything but it's a life saver after that. Glad I had one for my Canada trip last summer all we threw were blades.

Posts: 401 | Not trying to hijack your post but I built a couple rods recently specifically for people using a jig ripper. One wanted a groove in the middle of the foregrip and the other as close to the reel as possible. Is there a preferred spot to attach them?

Posts: 897 | I think mine is 5-6" in front of the reel

Posts: 291 Location: Madison, WI | Anyone got a good pic of the placement. I would think in the middle of the foregrip would be way too out in front. I would think as close to the reel would be better but that puts it in the threads of the reel seat. Speaking from a palmers POV

Posts: 11 | Hopefully this video can explain some of your questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdC-VbHv97Q Aaron is an awesome dude to work with. once you watch the video many of the questions on this thread should be answered. They are awesome to use. they take a little while to get used to but once you get used to them you will not want to fish without one.
