Vilas County in the Presque Isle area. The forecast looks to darn near perfect this weekend with a warming trend on the way.

Posts: 38 Location: Forest Lake, Mn | Did anyone have any success? We put in 1/2 day fishing Deer lake on Sunday. We saw 3 that were just lazy follows, it was nice being on the lake before the masses showed up. WS

Posts: 112 Location: Illinois | LLL and Teal were 54 degrees Saturday morning and raised to 62 on Sunday afternoon. Did go to a pet small dark water lake that had 67 Sunday night and another guy got a 40” but that was the only fish I heard from f all weekend. Weeds are brown still.

Posts: 3472 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Fishing was not the greatest for me either. managed to catch 3 northern pike, a 23.5" walleye, and a 70 incher!! The northerns and the 70" were on Saturday, with the Walleye on Sunday. Attachments ---------------- IMG_0899.jpg (127KB - 416 downloads) IMG_0896.jpg (123KB - 426 downloads)

Posts: 53 Location: Chicago, IL | I was on a larger lake in Vilas, water temps were shifting - 47 one spot and 52 in another. Had a low 30’s strike just as I was going into the 8 but jumped and came unpinned as I was going for the net. Had another 30” fish swipe at the bait boatside but never got hooks, and moved another low 40s fish that came in hot then just turned around. Moved some fish and saw some nice ones sunning shallow in 4ft of water or less. 500 sized tinsel bucktail and 5” cranks.

I had tremendous action on a large lake in Presque Isle. I ended up putting NINE in the net through yesterday until 11am. The smallest fish was about 28" with the biggest at 45" along with a hand full of 36"s and a couple at 40". Every single fish came on a 4" Phantom soft tail. I saw and talked to guys who were on the struggle bus throwing lures way to large for the conditions. Posts: 1136 Location: NorthCentral WI | Good job Cfollow! Talk about a great opening weekend... can't argue with those results! I fished the WI river all day Saturday and blamed my lack of results on the wind, high water, and cold water temps. Ha! Family kept me busy the rest of the holiday weekend. Thanks to the vets who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we could be out doing what we love. Edited by MartinTD 5/30/2019 9:35 AM
