Location: Chicago | Was wondering if anyone has used the Mann's Minus 1 Super Stretch for muskies?
I think it would be a great lure for shallow river muskies but it is advertised as a "saltwater" lure, so I think it gets overlooked. I ordered one and it looks great. 6 inches and 7/8 oz. Everyone knows the Minus 1 crankbait for bass but on a shallow river.....it should effective, even worked as a twitch bait.
Gonna throw it tomorrow for a few hours to test it out........ |

Location: E. Tenn | Why not? Also take a look at the Rapala Wakin' Rap.. caught a 45" on one last month, working it just outside the schools of minnows. It's supposed to be a surface bait, but runs lees than a foot deep on a wire leader. It's about 4 1/2", and weighs 3/4 oz.
Let us know how the Mann's bait works out. I 'll probably pick up a couple too..

Location: Clintonville, WI | To answer your question....yes. Make sure you beef up the split rings and hooks. They do not affect the action or depth noticeably. |

Location: Chicago | Yep, tested the Super Stretch today and it is a great lure for shallow conditions. Lo and behold I did catch something....not a musky but a 12 inch smallmouth! That was one brave bass!
I am going to upgrade split rings and hooks....good tip. Thanks.
Always nice to find a new lure that you have some confidence behind. |
