Posts: 1516 | I have a Heix 9 I'm going to mount on the bow. Those that have one mounted at the bow can u share a picture of the set up. The thing seems so big I want to make sure I can still have access to get the terrova in and out of the water

Posts: 271 Location: davis,IL | I had mine mounted the same way as the above pictures. But while underway it was like having a billboard on the bow. So I moved the ball mount about a foot forward so I can lay the mount and unit almost flat. Its big enough that looking at the screen is no problem, but now its sits low enough that it does not block my view while driving the boat.

Posts: 18 Location: Forest Lake, MN | I ended up mounting mine on a ram mount right in front of the windsheild. I can turn it and read while driving then turn it and read from the front. It is not optimal if fishing out the left side of the boat though.

Posts: 32 | I used a Sure-Lok mount and put it right next to the Ulterra. It is a Helix 9 and does block my view a bit but not as much as the trolling motor (or the dog). Also with just a half twist of the lever, I can tilt it down out of the way for a long run. It is more expensive than Rams but way more sturdy. The Rams always loosened up on rough waters. Posts: 138 Location: Aurora IL | If you mount the ram on the verticle of the bow platform (near the edge, somewhere above the trolling motor plug in) it can be folded down completely out of the way and wont interfere with your cover either. Only lose a couple inches of height for use. Bill

Posts: 443 Location: Duluth, MN | Probably a little late to help but i snapped this yesterday. I find it a lot easier to glance down with the unit in this location than having to look back over my shoulder at the bow. I suppose it all depends on how you stand when your casting.
