I know there has been some talks on this reel but I have not seen much of any reviews. Has anyone had a chance to use one? I am considering grabbing the 300XS for a glider/rubber reel but I can not find a decent review on them anywhere.

Its just a tougher version (parts substituted) of the standard Lexa. You should be able to find plenty of reviews if those.

SS Gears, more expensive bearings but they fish the same.

well my main question was how the new "hyper speed" reel handles and its capabilties. the 37" per turn one in specific.

Gotcha.

The 300 XS is going to be a bit rare as the size for the speed is even a little more "niche" than the 400 XS.

Many of these things come down to what are the alternatives?

At 11oz there is nothing in the world that will do what it does.

An Okuma Komodo 364 moves 31" at 11 oz but has more capacity (ie "350" size) and is a brilliant reel. Revo Toro Rocket moves more (42") but weighs (14 oz) and costs more.

So, the question is, is 6" more retrieve worth it to you for your fishing? I'd get one and then do a review on it!

I got one. Felt great in hand, works good for bringing in small bucks- which is why I got one. I wanted speed in a low profile, small package.
Only problem is I burned it up in one weekend of use. Bent shaft or gear pinion or something like that.
Not sure if I got a lemon or if they are just not up for what I used it for.
