I bought a hook file made by "Smity". It has a groove going down the center of it. What is the proper way to sharpen hooks with this type of file.
1) Do I just bring the hook down straight in-line with the grove?
2) Do I still try and sharpen the hooks point sides along the groove as well as sharpening the hooks point in-line with the groove.
For those experienced with this file thank you much probably a silly question,
