I will say that there were several Jackwagons fishing in the tournament with no respect for other people fishing. Nothing like pulling up on a spot, getting the sucker overboard, just starting to cast and having a jerk come screaming up at 50+ MPH, stop 10' in front of the boat and start fishing the same spot. Shoulda rammed them. After the 3rd time it happened, I gave up and went in. Way to be classy guys.

On the other hand, to the couple of boats who waited their turn and spoke politely, I hope the information I passed including the upper 40's follow I had earlier in the morning paid off for you.

Unfortunately some people forget boating ethics during a tournament, however the IMC overall does a great job to help fund the fishery that you get to enjoy fishing Randal. Below is a message from one of the tournament directors Scott Law about where some of those funds go. If you enjoy fishing Indiana lakes, fishing or being part of the tournament is a great way to give back and help support it. Thanks to everyone who contributed this year to help keep the Indiana Musky Fishery among the best in the country.

Dave Clary, from the East Fork Fish Hatchery, wanted to pass along the details of the 2017 Spring Muskie stocking. 1519 muskies were PITT tagged and released today in Webster lake. The average length at 12.88" gave the DNR staff high hopes for a strong survival rate. 165 extra fish went into the Barbee Chain.
Chief of Fisheries, Brian Schoenung, plans to hold fish over the winter so another Spring Stocking will take place in 2017.
Monies raised from last weekend's IMC will pay for 2000 pounds of fathead minnows to feed these fish over the winter.
Thanks again to all the anglers that fished the IMC as proceeds continue to go directly into the Indiana Muskie program.

And I'm hear to tell ya....a scenario such as what what you just experienced when trying to fish during the Classic weekend, Randal...is not that way just when trying to fish during the Classic. It can and will be like that when fishing any of those three main Kosiosko County Indiana lakes on any given weekend or time of the year. I have run into some doozie situations over the years with the big-headed egos out there on those waters, thinking they own the waters and own the spots. Enough times to know it's not reduced to just during the Classic tournament days. That's when it's just best to take the high road and move. There's enough great spots on those lil ponds that when the masses, or the egos move in to an area...move out and fish other areas that are void of other boats. It's not worth it to deal with those kinds.

Muski,
Not saying anything about your club or most of the members, just a few Jackwagons that were on Webster on the last day. No biggie. I'm an IMA and MI member, Just found out about you guys, I'll be looking into joining in the near future.

Might be something you guys want to address for future events, being courteous to other boaters, because it can reflect negatively on your organization. I know you guys are not all like that, but others may not. Just a thought...

MACK,
It's only happened to me one other time so I was a little put out when it happened 3x in less than one hour on the same day. I agree with you, breaking off and finding a different spot has paid off in the past so that's what I normally do. I normally fish off hours, so I don't see many other boats.

Just complaining a bit in my off time I guess.

Thanks for listening fellas, now back to our regularly scheduled forum...

i was on webster the last day. did see some boats fishing awfully close in the main basin. conditions were awful, spent most of my time in the back basin by pizza king.

i heard the first day some guy took off another guys trolling motor trying to get through the into james lake.

i was by myself the second day and had people help me with getting my boat in and out of the water. very polite helpful anglers helping a stranger.

i say, dont let a couple bad apples cast a shadow on this event. it was so much fun. it was my first event and i look forward to next year already!

Great Folks and absolutely wonderful Event! The good deeds enabled by supporting, participating and sponsorship of the Indiana Muskie Classic over the past 20years is ALMOST inestimable... One helluva Statewide Muskellunge Fishery... over-wintering fingerlings... specialized food, freezers, minnows, PIT Tags... and MUCH more; nearly $500K!
I'm gonna be there again for the 21st Annual INDIANA MUSKIE CLASSIC... "One of the most competitive formats in Tournament Musky Angling..."
