Posts: 118 | Just wondering what kind of bite can be expected in October and November on the V? I'd rather not troll all week and would prefer casting. Any suggestions on what type of structure they'll be on that time of the year? I know it's not a numbers lake but I'm hoping to find a monster or two. Will be staying on the far west side of the lake.

Posts: 1126 Location: Minnesota. | Can't give you a lot of specifics b/c I've not fished quite that late but I do know the bite has everything to do with Tulibee spawning/migration... It can be rough(er) to get them to take.

Posts: 118 | The plan is mid October. I won a trip up there and still have to check on dates. If casting is still an option then I'll probably book it. Otherwise gonna wait until next summer.

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | Did that trip up until last year (November Moon) and we spent our time finding and camping on ciscoes casting pounders and alphas and caught fish. Conditions vary so be prepared. Didn't go last year choosing hunting birds over that last late trip. Cold, ice, snowstorms ... ran into just about everything. Worth the trip tho, I'd suggest doing the buddy system with a couple boats. Edited by jonnysled 8/3/2016 9:07 AM

Posts: 548 Location: MN | Mid October last year had morning temps in the low 20's. So off to the Montana for breakfast then hit the water. Nice
