next week i am going to look at a boat with that motor supposed to be in great shape ,
what is the best compression pressure i should be lookig at ? i know it should be very similar between the different cylinders at 15% maximum !

thanks

10% or less. Keep in mind, If it is a 6 cylinder, the center cylinder on each side may be of different (lower comp) than the outer ones. Some do this to keep the heat down and from burning down the motor. Others use thicker walls and more water flow to the middle cylinders. No clue if the one you have in mind is this way. If you do a compression test, I would think if the 4 outer ones fall within 10% difference, and the middle cylinders fall within 10% of each other, you are ok.

Each bank should be within 10%, the 2 banks tend to be up to 15% apart. EX: Left bank 120 right bank 140. Do some research on VRO pumps for info on the oil injection on that motor.
