| Always concerned about losing my boat cover, so when i see the forecast for this Friday is 25-35 mph with gusts to 50, im thinking of just leaving it off.
I like to pack up the boat under the cover, so will lose some of that and i know my mpg will suffer..
but im thinking ill get a little piece o' mind though...
thoughts?? |

Location: Eastern Ontario | I usually have extra straps sewn onto my cover that go to trailer frame and keep the cover tight.
Not sure of the effect of a 25 MPH wind your driving 75 MPH and creating your own wind even when dead calm.

Location: The desert | Might depend on your cover. If it is nice and tight, I'd guess it should be fine. If it has loose edges, then it might be a different story. |

Location: oswego, il | All depends on the cover. I have an expensive custom cover from Riggs brothers for my prince craft and the snap on for my crestliner. They fit well and do not flap around and present an issue. If your cover flaps around, you don't have a good cover.

| well thats my dilemma, its a new custom snap on cover, and i used it to go to Canada last year and it was ok, had some
snaps i had to keep an eye on, but there wasnt a crosswind like theres supposed to be Friday.
Dont have a lot of confidence in the design, when i first picked it up the guy had snaps every 24 inches and i knew that wouldnt keep it on, and it didnt, had to take it back for him to add more snaps.. Wont be getting my next cover from him for sure.. but anyways...
Was thinking ill just put it on when we arrive at the hotel Friday evening since i believe the wind will be down for the next days drive.. wont have to be watching/worrying about it like i do when the weather is better...

| A place in wausau wi made a friend a really nice custom cover. It has a strap sewn in that goes under the lip of the boat and ratchets tight against the u hooks on the rear of the boat. I believe it is called duwaynescustomcovers.com |

| I use Otto's Canvas Shop in Arthur, Illinois. Amish craftsmen! My first one outlasted my boat. I had one made for my Ranger and I love it! |

Location: MN | I tried to order online from one of those cover places it didn't fit went to canvas craft here in mn. Best money I spent great quality it's like painted on its so tight cannot say enough about that place. |

My dad bought his crestliner from a dealer in Shelbyville and 8 know they had an Amish canvas shop build a cover for it. Had fiberglass bows and fit very well. I bet that was the place! I have the standard crestliner canvas with clips and snaps. I trailer in heavy wind with it all the time. If you have a tarp with a rip or a weak spot that could be a problem too. |
