Posts: 977 | It's definitely tragic. I remember listening to my "copy" of Sex type thing that I had to record to a cassette tape off of the radio...that song still kicks ass to this day. Like many others, this news did not come as a shock considering his history. Never knew he had caught a musky before that's awesome. Edited by Ronix 12/4/2015 4:13 PM

Wasn't a big fan back then, as I looked at them as the johnny come lately posers to the whole scene circa 94. While his first video was a total copy of the maneurisms of Lane Staley and Eddie Vedder, it didn't take him/them long to make their mark. Soon Pearl jam was(still is) muddling in mediocrity, and Lane Staley himself was dead. While Weiland and crew hit stardom and fame with several smash hits to the chagrin of fans of 'alternative' music, I now realize the whole scene was produced by figureheads of the day, and am happy for any of the lads that 'made it out' and had a few $$ to show for it. Musical genius he was not, but I have to admit, I was smitten with the hook of the song 'plush' when it came out, and the kids like it when it cycles through the ipod in the truck. Some of his best work was with Slash. I know he battled addiction and I'm actually surprised and impressed that he made it this long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5UOC0C0x8Q Edited by Reef Hawg 12/6/2015 9:10 AM
