Location: Merrill, Wisconsin | I'm looking at getting a new rod. But I do not want it over 8ft because I love fishing at dams and longer rods get to be a pain in the butt. Also it will travel in my car with me..
I have three questions about the rod:
1.) Can you notice the weight difference from split grip to full grip?
2.) Can it throw magnum bulldawgs comfortable?
3.) Does it feel like a "Broom stick" or does it actually have some sort of a soft tip?"
Thanks for all the help! |

Location: New Jersey | I can't speak to the weight difference between split and full cork, full cork is extremely light in weight.
Yes, Rod will throw mag dawgs.
I wouldn't say broom stick, but it's a stiff rod. I mainly use mine as a glide bait rod due to the fact it doesn't have a ton of tip action. It's a great Rod but if you like a fair amount of tip action you may be disappointed. Lamiglas has some rods that have a softer tip that will toss dawgs.
Hope this helps,

| For magnum bulldawgs under 8' i liked the lipstick.. it load pretty easy being a moderate action heavy power, you can also cast a ocasionaly pounder.

| Its an awesome rod, but yes its pretty stiff, and does a great job with magnums, IMO the lipstick way to soft for magnum Dawgs but, then i prefer a super fast action stiff rod. |
