Do you guys fog your 4 stroke motors? if you do what process do you follow. I have a 60 Yamaha. The manual says fog but that says check with your dealer. seems to have mixed messages on if it adds any value or if your opening yourself up to other issues.

Im guessing you would if your storing it for long periods in winter. I never have, but use mine through most of the winter and always use Seafoam when it sits for maybe a month or so.

I fog my 25 HP 4-stk Mercury. I pull the plugs & spray inside each cylinder & turn the motor by hand to spread the oil around.

Your going to have some people say fog, some people say put a ounce of oil in each cylinder, some say just run seafoam, mercury quickstore, or whatever product Yamaha has.

Wondering same thing. I just bought a new 200 HP Yamaha and he said don't bother. They don't need it. Although the manual says to and i used to fog my old 115.

I have elected to do what was listed above. I will have fresh 91 corn free gas in a full tank with Yamaha Fuel conditioner along with new oil, fuel and oil filters, replace lower unit oil. Once I have done that I plan to pull the spark plugs and spray Yamaha store rite fogging oil in the cylinders and turn over the motor by hand and replace the plugs and call it good. My dealer advise to spray into the cylinders and turn the engine. But who knows with this stuff.

My garage rarely freezes. I just drain it as low as possible and fill with fresh rec fuel in the spring. 1995 Yamaha and it hasn't failed me yet.

I've never fogged mine (115 4 stroke). I just put sea foam in at the end of the year, change the oil, change the lower unit lube, and put her away.

Same here. I put the Sea Foam in before the last fishing trip to be sure it gets into the injectors from running while fishing it. Yammy 150 4 stroke.

When I had a 2 stroker Yammy 115 I fogged each intake as best I could and shut her off immediately w/o any problems for over 15 yrs.
