Posts: 246 Location: Grand Marais, MN | Hi fellas was hoping some of you guys from the Minocqua or other areas around Lac Du Flambeau could give me some advice. I got assigned a rotation for the second week of december at the reservation dental clinic. Of course i get the dates where i cant try and do any musky fishing in the area while im up there. don't know how busy I'll be, but from my classmates who have been up there, they say there is hardly anything around to do and no where to eat. So you guys have any recommendations on things to potentially check out? We are staying at the lake of the torches casino hotel, and apparently the rooms dont even have microwave or small refrigerators so it gets to be a problem. thanks for any info on the area Pat Edited by bigfoot 10/7/2015 5:57 PM

Posts: 246 Location: Grand Marais, MN | Thanks Sled. Probably wont have time to do anything hunting or fishing, and I suppose we wont have much daylight after work hours by then either. Anywho, I of course plan on checking out Rollie and Hellen's (never been before). Any favorite places in Minocqua to eat? open to anything. thanks pat

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | yah, Sushi place is good, T. Mutraugh's has good sandwiches, Yacht Club has good ribs and wings, best Cheeseburger is in St. Germain at The Timbers, perch everyday at Fibbers, finer dining my favorite is Jacobi's in Hazlehurst, cheap but good burgers at the Bowling Alley and then the Hazelhurst Pub has good Burgers and Pizzas, another good burger spot is Whitmans in Hazelhurst ... PJ's UpNorth say they do but i was just there and it was awful, Heart II has a bar crowd and good pizza ... lots of choices around the area ...

Posts: 37 | Guides Inn in Boulder Junction, Smokeys in Manitawash Waters, Pines in Mercer (pre order duck/Sat and Sun). You might want to check if they are open then?

Posts: 4343 Location: Smith Creek | Are you the guy who shot Cecil?!?! JK! El Mez has decent Mexican food. A bit more quantity than quality, but quality ain't too bad. Casino has an all you can eat crab legs one night. Worth trying if you have a good appetite. The Birches in Springstead is close to LDF and has really good pizza. The brewery has good food and beer. Mama's has really good pasta. And you aren't too far from the St. Croix rod factory. They're selling LEM's with minor finish flaws for like 300 to walk in customers. I was looking at getting out to the SC factory, but reflecting on my summer schedule that afforded me only 5 nights of muskie fishing this entire season, and likely less than that for next summer, probably dont need any new rods unfortunately.
