Hi Guys -

I'm fishing Lake Vermilion for the first time next week and was wondering if you can give any tips on casting lures or patterns this time of year. I have heard fishing rock hazards is a good strategy. We will be staying in Daisy Bay and mainly fishing close in that area and to the West.

Thanks!
Sorgy

play in the wind. The more difficult the boat control the more agressive fish will be. play it smart and be safe. Broken rock exposed to even lighter winds can be good. gettng out of the wind will not put you on agressive fish.
Bucktails small and fast up tight to shore and bigger running parralel and out from shore.
Do good figure eights on every cast and even with a good bite you may only have a few shots at fish and one could be your PB.

Good Luck

We had some tough weather the first few days with high winds, rain, and 50 degree weather. We ended up seeing 5 fish that were all on rock hazards very shallow. Some of the fish were pushing 50. Bulldawgs and hellhounds were getting all of the looks.
