Posts: 284 Location: Eagan, MN | Anyone have a recommendation for sunglass retainers? Lost a pair of expensive Costas this spring and almost a second pair (netted them in the air as they were falling in the lake - lucky). Brian

Posts: 44 | They make straps that float. I went to these after I dropped a pair of oakleys in the drink. https://www.chums.com/floating http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004AE1XBW/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?...

Posts: 187 Location: West Metro, MN | These are what I have been using for my Costas the last 2 seasons and have been happy. They stick out which might look a little funny, but they keep the strap off of your neck which is nice. https://www.costadelmar.com/shop/products/c-line-1/374?gclid=CM2Ksey...

I use these above as well with my Costas and they work well. The ones that float work well but the larger strap just bothers my neck especially in the summer and I found I take them off after a while which defeats the purpose.

Posts: 49 | I haven't had good luck with the c-wire retainers from costa. I've had three sets and they have either had the wire pull out of the rubber retainer or the rubber retainers get stretched and quit holding. I've got several buddies who have had the same experience too. I switched to Cablez sunglass retainers and have been much happier.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | I use 100# flouro on my costa's. Drill a hole in the back of the ear piece large enough to fit the line through, crimp one side so it swings freely. Then size it to fit (make sure you can remove them without removing your hat), and crimp the other side. It wont stick out like the most of the slide on retainers and will probably outlast your shades.

Posts: 284 Location: Eagan, MN | Will, wondering if a guy could use a fas-snap to affix the flouro to the sunglasses instead of a crimp?? I could envision times where a person might not want to have fishing line on their shades...and there is no risk of losing them in the drink. I've got multiple pairs of glass so plan to try several of the options here. Brian

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | I did that on a one pair and found the snap annoying on the back of my ear once in a while. Also found that I never removed the retainer. I've got other pairs of sunglasses for when I want to look cool...
