My fishing partner and i are making our way up to the V again this year (the week after labor day) in hopes of holding one of those big blond girls. We are staying two nights on the way up in boulder junction to explore some new muskie waters.
Our plan is to check out palmer, fishtrap, big (on highway K), and maybe tenderfoot. We have never been in the area and i was wondering what the guys & gals here thought of our plan? I'm sure i have overlooked some good water in the area. Big girls are what we are after on the V. We are looking for action in Wisconsin with the possibility of a big girl..... thanks in advance for any info

Not sure your exact dates, but there is a large tournament in that area the Fri - Sun after Labor Day, so all the lakes you mentioned will have pretty decent amount of pressure on those days, FYI.

The tournament is based out of Eagle River and it the weekend of the 23rd. Big is a Good lake but it gets steady pressure all summer from the campers. Give whittigs resort a call on fishtrap and ask for Tom. He is a local guide on the lake and is more than willing to share info. Stop in there for a drink too, cool tiny old school lodge bar.

I was referring to the World Classic out of Boulder/Manitowish/Winchester/Presque Isle (not the Nat'l Champ out of ER). http://www.wcmuskyclassic.com/

You really can't go wrong with the lakes you picked. I could start listing others/more, but what you've got listed is a good enough list for two days worth.
