Posts: 25 | Headed up to GB in August to fish out of a guides boat. Want to know if anybody can recommend a good app for tracking routes and waypoints so when I head back up with my own boat and electronics I can retrace the local knowledge gained by fishing with the guide?

Posts: 537 Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | Some of the guides I've been out with were fine with me bringing my HDS unit ,and using a 12v outlet in their boat. Otherwise, as stated, Navionics is probably your best bet.

Posts: 25 | Done and done. Bought Navionics. From what I can tell without having it on the water yet, it should do the trick. Thanks for the help.

You are not kidding my friend. I find myself looking at the map Here and there quite often off the water. I wonder how accurate the sonar chart is the new option. As far as I can tell they use older maps and some of the depths aren't real accurate. Found myself looking for a drop off the other day that wasn't where it should be at all.
