As I'm getting deeper into for muskie I was advised to invest in some more bucktails. And so after some research, this is a list I came up with, roughly in order of preference. I'd also prefer to spend $15 a piece or less and definitely not more than 20. Thoughts? Comments? Insults? Any and all advice and feedback is welcome. Thanks

I had the same curiosity, here is what people polled a few weeks ago.

You can find almost any brand under $20 if you're patient and get them on sale/clearance. Gently used ones from the buy/sell/trade forum are good also. Making your own is a better option yet for under $20/per

I'm a big fan of Ghosttails. I just paid $13.49 today for them.

Also you can usually get pretty good deals at the musky shows if you buy a good quantity from the same manufacturer at their booth.

I stumble into cowgirls for under $20 quite frequently, but never know when/where it's going to happen.

The easiest way to spend under $20 or even under $15 per buck tail is to build your own.

I've been throwing the Mini 8's Bigtooth Juice bucktails a lot lately, as opposed to larger sizes. Those will be in your price range and have a different look to them than standard flashabou bucktails. Fish really seem to react to it.

I'm pretty partial to Spanky's and Llungen bucktails. Not sure if you are going to find many new for $20 or less, though.

The Bigtooth tackle juice series bucktails have been a staple in my boat for the last two years. The well thought out design has made all the difference in my success.

+1 for the JUICE. Throwing hair/Maribou the last few years has been a real plus. I think a lot of us, including myself, get attracted to the tinsel a little to much. Muskies never stopped biting Maribou

I prefer marabou because I tie my own now, don't fish much, and the added weight they hold from the water helps reduce backlashes. They aren't Professional Overruns for me, they are annoying backlashes...

Been using Musky Metal bucktails a lot the last two years and I really like them. The only thing I do is add a front hook on them, other than that, no complaints at the price point.

Hard to beat the original double 10 makers (cowgirls) and big fan of ghosttails and the new window makers by kramer brothers.
