Wondering if there are and tips or trick on running larger or harder pulling baits behind boards. It seems when I use a hard pulling bait it pulls the board back more then it goes out to side of boat.wondering if this is normal? I'm using offshore boards with the or-18 snapper clip. Also how well do headlocks work behind boards. Are you better off straight lining them? Any info appreciated.

I run church boards and have the weight moved way out front past the normal mounting holes and I added a little weight as well helps keep the nose in the water which pulls it out to the side

You can also buy the TX 44 boards.

The slower you go the wider your boards will go. Angle your board rods high up in the air to get them wider. Or-18 clip is a must in my book especially if ur talking headlocks.

I run Hosebait Fatties up to 100 feet behind a Church Walleye board which I prefer to the TX44's which I also have.
The Walleye will pull 10 inch Believers, Jakes, Grandmas and similar baits. If you heat the tow arm and bend it up some it will pull more to the side. We experienced more line wear with the locking clips than with the ones that come on the board. The line was wearing at the front of the clip.Probably because I repeat my lead length so often. This year I plan to try one set up with 40 or 50 pound mono. There are stainless pins available to replace the plastic ones which are probably worth while. We have run in up to a 2 foot chop and to 4.5 or a bit more mph.

TX44's with lock jaw clips. No other mods necessary. The stock clips work fine until you start pulling big baits like headlocks.

I put the offshore arm and clip on the 44 board. It seems to hold braid better than the lockjaw which slipped all the time. Mono is probably fine.
