Thinking of buying a rod, decided b/w a TI XH 9' and chaos tackle -Assault Stick 9' XH. Am leaning towards the TI rod. I am looking for a Buck tail rod that has some flex on the cast but enough boat side strength to move bait fast enough in the 8. I have a sling blade and big nasty already, and looking to add to the arsenal as those 2 are lighter rods and don't handle mag 8's and 10's. Looking for some suggestions fellas, thx

I dont have either of those sticks, but I would undoubtably suggest chaos tackle. They both have great warrenties and what not.... but I believe in Chaos Tackle products more than any other brand anywhere. Chaos is awesome, and Rick will hook you up!!!

Tackle Industries. Without a doubt the best customer service I've ever talked to. And James sells a pretty nice fishing rod as well.

Your big-nasty doesn't handle 8's and 10's well? I really like mine for throwing those lures.

If you think big nasty is too light, look at th XXH model from TI.

What kind of mag 8s and 10s are you throwing that a big nasty or sling blade won't handle!? These rods are designed for those exact baits...

I have a 9' XH Tackle industries rod that I use as my go-to rod, especially for bucktails. Love it, James is a heck of a good guy to deal with and a local product for us Iowa boys. The XH has a moderate to med/fast action to load up bucktails with.

I have a Chaos Shock and Awe, TI XH and XXH rods, and a Sling blade. Ive been using the Shock and Awe for pretty much everything these days. Loads up nice for smaller baits and handles anything in you tackle box. It feels really close to the TI XXH but the handle is a bit thinner and has a better shape on the butt that gives you a better grip for casting. Making the Chaos is just a little more comfortable at the end of the day. I agree about the sling blade not being the best 10 rod. It works fine but not as well as the other 3 rods.

My chaos rod snapped in less than ten cast. Rick is replacing it for me but I found it odd. First rod I've ever snapped on a cast. There is a reason st croixs cost more, I've owned TIs and chaos ( which I'm fairly confident are the same blank) and they don't hold a candle to my nasty for blades.

They're is no perfect rod. What works for one don't work for the next. Just a thought you know what you want the rod to do get a custom rods built. Talk to a rod builder ( I like Lonnie at Thorn Bros. ) tell them what you have what you like and don't like about the rods and have them build you a dream rod.
