Random quote: Tough crowd, muskie fishermen. Especially late at night. Seems that a toddy or two detaches reason from the average angler.

Merry Christmas fellas!
Finally have some time off to think about baits

I'm looking for some advice on a roll of aviation SS wire -0.51 302/304 that was given to me......Is that too soft for smaller bucktails?
I typically use .062 308 wire for my larger stuff, I've even used some .040 (308) for bass and walleye spinners.
I was thinking of building some smaller tails with #8 blades and making them jointed with the aviation roll, but it does seem pretty soft...might have to just use it for making "S" hooks.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or input...and enjoy the Holidays

way to soft. that's tie wire. minimum should be 304 wire. if yer using 0.51 use 308 for tensile stregnth
