Location: Eastern Ontario | So if I'm looking at a used HDS10 how do i tell if its a Gen2 and not a Gen1?
Any idea what year the gen 2 came out? |

Frankies salesman told me mine was the first one to get mounted on a boat according to a Ranger rep. I ordered my rig in winter 2011 and got it early 2012.
I could be wrong. Could've gotten some saleman B.S. but it was the first year IIRC.
And the unit says "Gen 2" on the outside case or the screen, can't recall right off. My rigs in storage.

| The Gen 2 has darker looking plastic on it, and when you turn it on the screen will say "Gen 2" |

| Above the display screen, the word "Lowrance" is printed on the plastic housing. If the letters are black its a Gen 1, if letters are white its a Gen2 |
