We are new to a lake with good musky fishing but weeds have changed in the time i used to fish it 20yrs ago. Almost no cabbage no coontail, 90% gras that grows to 8' deep! What is the best method for fishing this stuff. Especially in fall when its fully grown. The ski's use it but very difficult to fish!

On LOW this year with my dad, the only fish we could ever get to eat came out of gras on sand beaches in early August. We fished it exactly the way we would a cabbage bed. He hopped a smaller Medussa along the edge of the gras and I burned bucktails and worked jerkbaits over the top, and slow rolled spinnerbaits through the gras when those two things werent producing. My dad did catch more fish working the edge than I did working over the top and through.

safety pin style spinnerbaits. Won't get weeded up much and fish love 'em.
