I am looking at boats again and since I live right on the MN - WI border I shop on both sides. My last three major purchases 2 trucks and a boat were all made in WI. Appears WI has lower cost of doing business and pass that on to customers. Looking at new boats with MSRP in range of $37 to $38. MN dealer is not excited about my trade. Recall you do not pay sales tax on trade credits hence selling boat for same value as trade would cost me over $800. Guys on MN side will drop approx slightly less that $2000 from MSRP. WI dealer has dropped $3000 and will include a few more more accessories as well. I agree with waiting. Once fall is on the horizon the dealers will be more motivated. Unfortunately I am looking for a big tiller boat and the factories are pumping out side consoles so inventory is limited and they realize it.
