How about trying a different hz setting? I can never remember which is which but one setting would make your signal less strong.

A double reading doesn't really bother me but I don't think I constantly see it on either my bird 999 or 859. Didn't always see it on my old Lowrance 520c units either.


It's mostly annoying when I am trolling. Early spring trolling for salmon/trout, i zig zag across break lines a bit. When the depth is changing from 6' to 20' I can't just set the deep setting and leave it.
