Not usually necessary on muskie-sized boats, but as mentioned, some hulls do create a scenario in which sonar imaging on both side can be better with (2) SI transducers. two of biggest factors in transducer and SI performance is the transducer mounting location and mounting the transducer level when the boat is on the water. That said, I'd recommend running the SI transducer, Y cable and 2D high speed transducer to start and see where that gets you. You should be able to get good images with that setup and also keep depth and sonar at high speed.
