In my experience there are two things you can do when buying a locator.
1. By the biggest screen you can afford, (would mount a 50" if I could)
2. Buy the best technology available (MEGA)
If your not concerned with side imaging be above ok, just by a GPS/Sonar unit. There is no comparison to what these new units can do.
