With my X-190 and 80 lb Xi5, I would pop the circuit breakers if I ran the motor at a speed of 7 or higher for any length of time. According to the Motorguide website, the 80 lb Xi5 will run around 57 amps at high speed. The 80 lb Terrova has a similar amperage in the mid 50s at high speed. Using recommendations from btfish, I rewired the trolling motor with 4 gauge wire, a 60 amp Minn Kota circuit breaker, and a new, heavy duty plug/receptacle. I just did the job within the last few weeks and used the boat heavily for 2 days last weekend. Spent a solid 2-3 minutes on power 10 to check the work- no problems and everything felt cool to the touch. Hopefully, btfish will be around to add his expertise.

This is what I'm thinking, too. I may start with just a 60 amp breaker and see what happens then go from there.
