I have a 2008 1850, with a 150 Honda, on it.
I'm lucky to get 42 mph, with just myself.
I didn't buy it for speed, I bought it for the fishability, and the big front deck.
I like cruising around 28 to 30 mph. Only go full out, when I'm trying to beat a storm.

Not to hijack the thread, but Bucknuts, can you shoot me a message? I'm thinking something isn't right with your set-up if you are hitting 42mph as a max with just you in the boat. That motor is a great motor and should be putting you toward 50 to 52...
