Congrats on being in a position to purchase such a dream rig! With that said, I'd go kicker for sure. As a musky guy, one shallow water anchor should be enough. The kicker is both a safety and versatility feature, allowing you not only to get home if something happens to your big motor but also available for when you want to troll or maybe even take a quiet evening put-put cruise with friends or family. In lieu of the ladder, use the trim/tilt on your big motor to get you back in the boat in the event of an accidental dunking.
